TIL adds star quality to charity karting team
The Inside Line has added two star names to its team for the McRae Vision Charity Karting Grand Prix Challenge on June 9.
The Strathaven-based PR and marketing consultancy is looking to raise over £1000 for the event being held at Scotkart Cambuslang, and having already collected 70% of that target is hoping its guest drivers can help draw in even more donations.
Current British GT Aston Martin racing driver and four time British champion Jonathan Adam will bring some serious pace to the squad.
Having started out in karts, then progressed to dominating the Renault Clio Cup and SEAT Cupra, before the consistently fighting at the sharp end in the in the British Touring Car Championship, the young Fifer is the real deal behind the wheel.
Scottish rock star Neil Primrose will also join Team TIL for the charity karting event. The drummer for chart topping band Travis is also a passionate motorsport enthusiast who combines touring the world playing on stage with competing at race circuits in a wide variety of categories.
Before the event he will play a gig in Moscow, fly back to the UK for a five hour endurance race at Snetterton, then head back to Scotland for the charity karting – so should already be ‘in the zone’ as soon as he hits the track.
With these two very capable racers bolstering the regular staff members in the team, The Inside Line is hoping to have a crack at winning the event while staying focused on raising as much money for a great cause as possible.
In 2010 Colin McRae Vision donated in excess of £70,000 to children's health and education initiatives, and it’s expected the charity karting event will raise another healthy five figure sum.
Anyone who wishes to support The Inside Line’s team by donating can do so online at www.justgiving.com/The-Inside-Line, while updates on the event will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
