Team TIL Pipped to Podium
The Inside Line raced to a respectable fourth place finish at the Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Grand Prix 2008.
Competing in the Super Fun Race at the annual charity karting event against 12 other squads, Team TIL only narrowly missed out on a medal after some intense racing.
The team consisted of Graeme Cleland, Peter Martin and Phil Grant - a late substitute for TIL director Gavin Miller, who was forced to pull out at the very last minute due to illness.
In the following Super Fast Race, TIL client and current Scottish Legends champion Carol Brown went one better and sped to third place. Carol joined the In-Tune Racing team alongside British Touring Car ace Michael Doyle and single-seater pilot Neil Purdie - another late call up after John Smeaton had to withdraw due to illness also.
However, despite clearly being under the weather, John stayed to cheer on the team and to present the cheques and medals at the end of the evening - which raised an incredible £10,085 for Cash for Kids. Every penny of the total raised will be distributed to deserving causes before Christmas to ensure there is festive cheer for those who need it most.
A big you to everyone who pledged sponsorship to The Inside Line team and contributed to the fantastic result for Cash for Kids, and also Phil Grant for his extremely quick appearance as a super-sub.
Pictures from the evening to follow.
